I'm Moving!

So, after a good 6 months of thinking I've decided to combine both of my blogs and create one new lifestyle blog over at Wordpress. I've had some good times with Lucy Loves To Blog but I really feel like it's time to do something different. I really hope you all follow me over to my new blog at Lucy & The Boys.

I'm not 100% finished on the blog just yet so you'll have to bear with me whilst I get the last bits and bobs finished! Lucy Loves To Blog will still be up for the time being.

Thank you all x

May In Photos & June Plans

Sorry this is a little bit late, I'm still not completely back to my normal schedules with the holiday and coming back to a brand new opened shop, it's just been so busy in my house at the moment I've barely had time to think! So yeah, May has been a bit of a crazy month for me, at the beginning of the month I headed to Florida and NYC with my best friend Cara and her Aunt Sue, we all had such an amazing time, Florida was so hot and there was so much to explore and NYC was such an unforgettable experience, I've written about both parts of my holiday here, here and here! Whilst I was away we moved our two little boutiques into one larger shop in a better position, I hated being away for the move and the fitting of the new shop, it looked so incredible when I came back! So since I've been home I've been working extra hard in the shop and online trying to get our little boutique some kind of online presence and it's been going surprisingly well, our facebook page grows everyday and I'm currently building a web shop to go along with our blog! The only thing that I've been slacking on this month is my web design course, before I left for America I'd finished the first section of my course so now I need to book in my first exam but with things being so busy I just haven't got round to it but it's on my to do list for today!

/ Our beautiful hotel in Disney World / Me and my boyf Gaston / Me and Cara outside the Rock n Rollercoaster / My beautiful Michael Kors purchase, expect a blog post asap! / Florida selfie to show off that holiday glow / Seeing the amazing The Starry Night by Van Gogh at the MOMA in NYC / Times Square! / Dino at the American Museum of Natural History / The Statue of Liberty / Our lovely new shop! / My boy Alfie pleased to have me home / Birthday drinks with my best boy /

I also want to add a new section to this monthly blog post, my plans for the month ahead, I'm a firm believer of looking into the future and not dwelling on the past so every month I'm going to share a few goals/plans for the next month.

June Plans

Save - After a whole year of my brother living in Paris I am yet to visit him so on a bit of a whim really me and three of my closest friends have bit the bullet and booked flights to Paris for the end of July. I've never been to Paris before so as you can probably guess I'm super excited, and I get to see my brother, who's one of my best friends. So now we just need to book our apartment (hopefully today!) and get saving, so these next two months will probably consist of lots of movie nights and cheap cider!

Study - I really need to get myself back on track with my web design course, I've completely fallen off the wagon and it's not good enough. I haven't had to do an exam in 7 years so I'm really nervous about actually taking it even though I've really worked hard so far and I think I know my stuff pretty well. The plan is to book the exam in today and then really get studying!

Blog - Blogging is always a priority to me, I just don't always get the time, with working full time and studying it can be tough but I really want to get back on track this month and then hopefully when I am I can fulfill my plans to change over to wordpress site and make a few exciting changes to Lucy Loves To Blog, but more to come on this in July!

Health - Obviously going to America I didn't keep up my health and fitness regime and since I've been back I've been having a few good days here and there but the bad have out weighed the good. I've also signed up for a 10k at the end of August so I desperately need to train for that and get my eating back on track, again starting today, so wish me luck! I'll be keeping you up to date with my healthy eating and fitness regime.

New York, New York

After spending 9 glorious in Florida we headed to New York City, NYC was the bit about the holiday I was looking forward to the most and luckily it didn't let me down. We only had 3 days and 2 nights in NYC so we had a lot to pack in to our little trip, we arrived late morning, checked into our hotel and got straight into sight seeing! Firstly we headed to Bloomingdale's, which to be honest was a bit of a disappointment, it wasn't the stock that was a let down, I could have spent a fortune (especially on the bags!) the shop itself just wasn't that nice to be in, it was a bit of a mess and a little bit tacky. In the afternoon we had a wander around Central Park, which was beautiful and so much bigger than I expected it to be and then we headed to the Museum of Modern Art which was probably my favourite bit of the whole holiday. I've always loved art, especially photography so it was such a treat for me and as a bonus we saw Krysten Ritter (the very beautiful Jane from Breaking Bad) in the lift! The whole of the MOMA was amazing but my absolute favourite was seeing the incredible The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I've been a fan ever since I studied Van Gogh at school so seeing some of his work in real life was such an amazing opportunity!

That evening we were all pretty sleepy from the early morning and long day walking, we had a delicious dinner at an Italian restaurant near our hotel and after the mediocre food in Florida it was such a relief! On day 2 we spent the morning at the American Museum of Natural History which was incredible, we spent 4 hours exploring all the amazing exhibitions. My favourites being the dinosaurs, yes I know I'm a cliche but they were just so cool! I also learnt a hell of lot, along with the MOMA it has really made me want to visit more of the museums and galleries in Britain. Later on we headed to Times Square, I was so excited about visiting Times Square, at first it was a little bit intimidating, it's just so loud and there are so many people but I actually loved the buzz about it in the end! That evening we went to go and see Cabaret at Studio 54 on Broadway, which was such an amazing experience, Alan Cumming was flawless and the whole show was just amazing. On our last day in NYC we went down and visited the Statue of Liberty which was something I was determined to do, it was such a cool experience and such an amazing way to finish our holiday.

Have you been to NYC? I'd love to hear some of your stories.

Florida Part Two

So part two of my Florida adventure! In the second half of our trip we went to the awesome Disney Studios, being a massive fan of films I was really looking forward to this park, there's a variety of rides and shows which adds a little something different. I was so excited to go to Disney Studios because as a kid I loved the Tower of Terror, it's an elevator based ride that takes you to the top of a building and drops you, repeatedly, luckily I loved it as much as I did when I was younger, although I was a lot more scared! I also went on the cult Star Wars ride, the Rock n Rollercoaster, watched the Indiana Jones stunt show and my favourite, the Beauty and the Beast show. It's only half an hour long so it compresses the story into just the songs but it was amazing, I actually shed a tear at the end!

As well as spending some time in Disney World we also went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, I was really looking forward to going to the parks because they have a lot more thrilling rides than Disney World. Me and Cara are both a bit scared of heights so going on the rollercoasters was terrifying but we braved it and went on almost all the big ones! My favourite was the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, a rollercoaster that blasts music in your ears as you go round, also a special mention to the awesome Despicable Me, Mummy, Transformers, Hulk and Spiderman rides. A big bonus to the Universal parks is that there's Citywalk with some amazing shops and restaurants, so we did lots of shopping and ate at the delicious Hard Rock Cafe restaurant!

Florida Part One

As you all probably know by now, I've spent the last couple of weeks in America. I went away with my best friend Cara and her aunt Sue, we spent 9 days in Florida and 3 in NYC and we had the most amazing time! I'm actually going to do this in 3 parts because I have so many photos I want to share with you all! I was so desperate for a bit of sunshine and luckily in Florida it was 32c everyday, it was so incredible to have such beautiful weather. We stayed in the beautiful Beach Club Resort in Disneyworld which was a 5 minute walk to the Epcot theme park. The Beach Club Resort is a New England style resort with a man made beach, a lake and set of swimming pools linked by bridges and even a lazy river.

The Disney parks are all so much fun, on the first day we went to Typhoon Lagoon, which was my favourite as a kid, it's a lagoon style water park with a massive wave pool, lazy river and several flumes and ride and it was awesome, we had so much fun on all the rides and we did plenty of sunbathing! The next day we headed to Animal Kingdom, which ended up being my favourite park, it all seemed so realistic, there are parts based on Asia and Africa which both look absolutely amazing. There are also lots of animal, obviously, and a really cool safari which I absolutely loved!

Very conveniently we were only 5 minutes away from Epcot so we spent quite a lot of time there, it's such a cool park, it's split into two areas, future world and the world showcase. Future world consists of the few different attractions that are science and technology based, there's a couple of awesome rides in future world but the world showcase was my favourite by far. There's 11 different countries represented in the world showcase, each one has a variety of shops, restaurants, landmarks and some even have small rides. My favourites are Mexico, Morocco, Japan and I had a little soft spot for the UK, we actually spent Sue's birthday at the pub in the UK area, they even had cider and black on the drinks list.

Obviously being in Disney World we spent sometime in the Magic Kingdom theme park, unfortunately the day we went to Magic Kingdom me and Cara were feeling, to be honest, like shit. We stayed out till about 2.30 the night before with our new American friends drinking whiskey and hanging out on the beach and neither of us were feeling that fresh when we headed to Magic Kingdom at 8 the next day. Luckily there wasn't to much any of us wanted to see, we went on the legendary Splash Mountain and spent sometime in Gaston's tavern but after a few hours we headed back to the hotel to chill out by the pool.
